Dear Stanford community,
We at Stanford Out of Occupied Palestine are launching our divestment campaign this quarter, and to build and demonstrate student support we are circulating a petition. If you agree that Stanford should stop investing its endowment in companies that facilitate grave injustices in Israel’soccupation of the Palestinian Territories, please read and sign our petition. For more information, read the op-ed that launched our campaign, our full Case for Divestment, or some Frequently Asked Questions on our website.
Here are some ways you can support the campaign beyond signing the petition:
1. Spread the word: forward this email to other people and listservs. We're connecting with students, alumni, faculty, and staff, so send it around widely.
2. Stay connected: visit our website and like our Facebook page to keep informed. Check out the attached event schedule and come out to the educational discussions, film screenings, and debates that we're putting on.
3. Get involved: email [email protected] to find out how.
4. Put up the poster: print out the informational campaign poster and put it up on your door to demonstrate support. Also put some up around your housing (bathroom stalls are a great spot).
5. Donate: support our efforts by chipping in for our campaign. Funds will go towards flyers, pamphlets, banners, buttons and other items needed for student mobilization.
6. Reach out to your representatives: email your senators about why you support divestment. Let them know that the student body does not want their tuition funding human rights violations.
In solidarity and struggle,
Stanford Out of Occupied Palestine
